EN 1317 Approval

Steel

Varley and Gulliver has added 3 new systems to its portfolio following successful tests in July 2006 namely; N1, H2 and H4a containment systems - details to follow shortly.

On 12th August 2005 Varley and Gulliver successfully tested a Steel N2-W1 vehicular parapet in accordance with EN 1317-1:1998 and EN 1317-2:1998.

The parapet was tested on a 450mm Plinth and achieved a dynamic deflection of 0.4m and a working width of 0.6m.

Aluminium

Varley and Gulliver has added 1 new system to its portfolio following successful tests in July 2006 namely; N1 containment system - details to follow shortly.

On 22nd September 2004 Varley and Gulliver successfully tested an Aluminium N2-W2 vehicular parapet in accordance with EN 1317-1:1998 and EN 1317-2:1998.

The parapet was tested on a 450mm Plinth and achieved a dynamic deflection of 0.6m and a working width of 0.8m.

The vehicle wheels did not leave the plinth during any time of the vehicle impact of either system.

Expanding Operations

In October 2004 Varley and Gulliver acquired the assets of Lionweld Kennedy Parapets based in Middlesbrough. A new company has been formed and will be known as Varley and Gulliver Steel Parapets, a division of Varley and Gulliver Ltd

The Teesside base will strengthen Varley and Gulliver's already strong position by enabling them to offer a broader product range and improve services to customers in the North of England

Baco Contracts

Varley and Gulliver purchased the intellectual property rights to Baco Vehicle and Pedestrian Systems in the year 2000
